Org Mode of Emacs


  • use "" as level-1 title, "*" as level 2 title, and so on;

  • M-S-Ret: create a new TODO item;

  • M-S-Left/Right: up/down a title level;

  • M-S-Up/Down: make paragraph move forward/backward;

  • C-c C-t: mark a task between "DONE", "TODO" or none; If you want to cancel a task, just remove its "TODO" use this command;

  • C-c C-s: add schedule (this short cut works in all modes);

  • Use S-Tab to collapse/expand all level titles and contents;

  • Use to cycle between the level under cursor;

  • Only show TODO: C-c / t; Only show DONE: C-c / T; Show all: C-u C-u C-u ;

  • Set task priority: C-c , a/b/c

  • Add (setq org-agenda-files '("~/docs/orgs")) into ~/.emacs to setup org files repository; (setq org-agenda-files (list "~/docs/orgs/*.org")) doesn't work;

  • Add (define-key global-map "\C-ca" 'org-agenda) to ~/.emacs to enable global agenda;

  • C-c C-l: create a new link or edit link at cursor;

  • C-c C-o: open link at cursor;

  • In Agenda view, press "I" to start clock, <> to stop clock;

Repeat tasks

  • Ordinary repeat

  • TODO Test repeat tasks SCHEDULED: <2013-10-28 Mon 15:50 +1h>

  • Accumulative repeat

  • TODO Call Father SCHEDULED: <2008-02-10 Sun ++1w>

  • Float repeat

  • TODO Recharge the batteries SCHEDULED: <2008-02-10 Sun .+1d>
